The King Calls

I know that it is supposed to be Wordless Wednesday... But...

I couldn't help myself (^^,)

This Peacock looks so regal. I loved taking his photo.
He looks so royal, don't you think?

I have been reading through Song of Solomon, and have been falling deeper in love with my King, every day.
This passage touched my heart...

Song of Solomon 2:10-13
"My beloved spoke, and said to me:
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.

For lo, the winter has past.
The rain is over and gone.

The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.

The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!"

Your Beloved,  Your King is wooing you

Lotsa love xx

Sunset

The sunset tonight was so beautiful!

Veld Fires are a common scene here on the highveld in Winter. Everything is so very dry.

Tonight it looks like the sun was smoldering...
Have a super evening!

Coffee Date With Kenzie

I love being a stay at home Mom.

Today Kenz and I did a bit of shopping.

We ended off our time with a pit stop at Woolies.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a deep love for coffee.

Today Kenz and I shared our first coffee (^^,)
She had the baby chino, and Mommy had the real deal!

Such a precious memory that has been tucked into my heart!
What a sweetie pie she is!

I am so grateful for my blessings!

Faithful Jesus

The more I get to know my saviour, the deeper I fall in love with Him.

Spend time in His presence today, I just know that He has some truths that he wants to impart into your heart today.

This song touched my heart.

Ooh La La

Last night Ian and I were invited to attend the opening of the 20th Century Masters at the Standard Bank Art Gallery in Johannesburg.

What a lovely affair it was.

This would be me sipping on some french onion soup (forgive the quality of the photo. Ian took it with his cell phone. Although I took my camera with I neglected to check the battery!? oO,)

The whole evening had a French flare, as the art expo is a collaboration between South Africa and France.

The exhibition opens today, and if you can, I would encourage you to through and visit. The art is spectacular, there were one or two or maybe three pieces, that I just didn't get. But hey! It's art! LOL

We ended off our wonderful evening out with some sublime macaroons. (Had to bring some home so that I could photograph them, hee hee)

Have a wonderful week end.

Cape Town Road Trip Days 6 & 7

The Malherbe family were our hosts for the evening. They have a beautiful farm. They farm sheep.

This I can say with certainty. Me I'm not cut out for farm life!

Those blasted chickens woke me up at 4.30 am. And boy oh boy, there were two roosters competing, because they did not stop crowing...

Oh well, we started our day bright and very early (or not so bright, looked like the sun was having second thoughts about coming up to greet us!) If I thought that it was cold in Cape Town, I was wrong, it properly cold here on this farm!

As we walked out into the pre-dawn this is the view that greeted us...

After bitting 2 horses, the sun got up :)
We were treated to a farm breakfast of fresh free range duck eggs on toast. Truly yummy, truly.

As Dawn did the bit fitting for the 7 horses, I was able to roam about the farm.

Sweet little lamb was born the night before.

Yup, that is what you would call a chicken legging it. I suppose I would to if there was a mad English woman trying to take my picture so early in the morning.

Upon closer inspection, these are the weirdest chickens I have EVER seen. Naked necked chickens, for real!
Shame...

Here was one of our customers... Handsome boy :)

Ahh, a bit of creative time (^^,)

We then bid adieu to the Malherbe family and headed off to Riversdale.
Riversdale is dairy country...of course there would have to be a cow crossing

What a view this lady has, there is nothing around for miles!

This pup was beside himself with excitement during the bitting. He ran circles around us for almost and hour.
I loved his ears! Looks like he's directing traffic.

Dimples, who was our last customer, was not so fond of the mouth measure...
Note the ears... nope, not pleased at all.

I have met the most wonderful people on this trip, as well as a load of animals with character. But this old boy captured my heart,

As I stepped out of the truck, he came to greet me. I fell in love with him in a instant!

For the first time in my life, I experienced love at first sight.

So here's my shot of the day...

More diamonds! (^^,)

Headed home after this...

And so we set off for home. We spent the night in Beaufort West once again. This time we stayed at the 3 Chimneys.

What a delightful little spot.

We were up before dawn again, this time both of us looking forward to getting home.

Cape Town Road Trip Day 5

Day 5, saw us saying good-bye to BloubergStrand.

It was another cold and cloudy day. Shew it was freezing :)

We headed into Worcester, I loved these little waterfalls, I was quite surprised to see that they weren't frozen over! LOL, I was so cold.

This farm house is where we stayed on our first night in Worcester.( It was so dark then, that I couldn't take any pic's.) It has been in the De Wit family for 6 generations. And among other things they farm wine grapes.

We stopped to say good bye to the wonderful family, who were our gracious hosts.

Arina's ducks...

How's that view?

Gorgeous.

From Worcester we made our way to Robertson. Which so happens to be the birthplace of my favourite wine. Sadly, we were under the whip, so there was to be no shopping to be done. Places to go, people to see, horses to bit!

Ah.. the winding road :)

After our time in Robertson, it was time to head off to a farm between Ladismith and Riversdale. A 2 hour drive.

So we drove into the sunset.
So for my shot of the day, I could'nt quite choose between these two...

I'm not going to tell you how close I was to this slug! Yuck!

But, it's a cool shot (^^,)
LOL

Cape Town Road Trip Day 4

Today we only had one horse to see, the rest of the day was ours to enjoy.

After a scrummy breakie at our B&B, which was The Mandalay Beach Guest House.

I could highy reccoment this B&B. It was fab!

We headed on out to Malmsbury...
No matter where we went, the views were amazing. I could see my Abba in every shot that I took. Every time I looked through the lens, I saw His magnificent handiwork!

Our Abba in in the details! Even in this wild grass.
After our time in Malmsbury, we wondered how we were going to spend our free time in the beautiful Cape? Taking into account that it was raining, and miz outside. What else was there to do, other than hit the Mall? hee hee

We took on Canal Walk, one of the country's largest malls!

We lost all track of time, and at 22h00 we started to feel hungry, and so on a Sunday night all that was open for food, was good old faithful Micky D's!

Hip hip hooray for the Big Mac (^^,)

My shot of the day...

Cape Town Road Trip Day 3

Oh My Word! Did you think that I fell off the face of the earth, on day 2 of my road trip?
It has been a busy time here in the Mansfield home :)

While we were away in Cape Town, I got a call from my sweet Sis, to let us know that she and her family were coming up for a visit! Hip hip hooray!
They came up for a week. It was wonderful to have some much needed quality time together. I did not open my computer once...

So let's get back to Cape Town...

On day 3, we had a jam packed day. We left Worcester bright and early, and were treated to a beautiful sun rise!
Breathtaking!

We made our way to Somerset West. Dawn bitted 6 horses here. One of them was in a field.
His friends were quite interested in the goings on. LOL
They reminded me of a troop of monkeys... they were so curious. I had to close all the doors of the truck, they stared rummaging through all the goodies!

After Somerset West we heading into Stellenbosch, eish look at those cold clouds! Here we were treated to doing the bittings in the rain...lovely!

As soon as we were done, the rain stopped of course!

dawn and I got into a bit of a rhythm, once I had taken down all the info, she did the bit fittings,  I was left to my own devices... that meant that I could wonder around and take a gazillion photos (^^,)

I was in my element!

Look at these two pooches that I met. :)

Once we left Stellenbosch, we drove into Cape Town.

I took this pic while we were driving to our last appointment for the day.

This is my shot of the day. I took this one, in a field in Somerset West. I loved the dew drops. They look like diamonds!

After a very busy day, we made our way into Blouberg Stand for the evening...
