A Baby Shower for Jana

This past week end, Dawn and I hosted a baby shower for Jana.
Jana is one of Dawn's best friends.

Dawn asked me to get involved with the planning, 'coz it really is something I really love to do. I was a little apprehensive at the start, because Jana is carrying a baby boy. I wondered if I would be strong enough to be able to put my best into everything that I had undertaken to do.

The shopping took about 2 weeks (^^,)

Then on Saturday, Dawn and I began our prep. We worked late into the night, and arose very early (5am) on Sunday morning to put on all the finishing touches.

I was really able to put my heart into everything I did for Jana.

Blue Rice Krispie treats,

Blue Velvet cupcakes (^^,)

Dawn made the awesome sarmies. Don't they look perfect?

I loved the butterflies we found. Yay they were blue. I love the fact that they symbolize new life.

They hardest part of the day for me, was when Dawn wanted to release balloons into the air as a symbol of hope for Jana and her hubby. In the knowledge that God will give them the wisdom to raise little Dihann.

The last time that I released balloons into the air, it was Zac's Celebration. My heart was in my throat as I released my balloon. Not only did I say a prayer for Jana, but  I also looked up and smiled. I know where our precious little love, Zac, is. He is tucked away safely in the arms of an Angel in one of the nurseries in Heaven, where I know that Precious Jesus comes to visit him on a regular basis. He is happy and whole.

Everything that I did for Jana, I did with a happy heart. It was my love offering.

Little Zac's legacy lives on. He is the one who has taught me how to love. And that is, simply, to love with all of your heart.

Sending you lotsa love

It's Here

I love to cook! I guess one could say that it is in my genes. My Dad was a chef, and Mom is able to whip up something delish in 30 min or less. I love to collect recipe books. Just recenty though, I donated quite a few of them, and decided to only hang on to my favorites.

And here is the newest member to my collection...

I absolutely loved her first book! It is called Deceptively Delicious! Her trick is that she hides veggies in the most delicious meals. Like brownies for instance, their 'secret' ingredients are spinach and carrots! I kid you not! And they are so yummy. When I make them they are gone in a flash.

My Ian will not eat veggies like butternut. It is my favorite veg. She has a mac and cheese recipe that has butternut in it. So I thought I'd try it. Well it is Ian's favorite dish now. In fact he requests it once a week. And nope he has no clue what the secret ingredient it! LOL!! I Love it!!

So today I spent a good portion of it making my pures!

On the menu tonight is, Lemon Chicken. The special ingredient is cauliflower. Yuck! This is so not my favorite veg. BUT I am willing to give it a try!

I'll report back... (^^,)

Down Time

Hip Hip Hooray!! The exams are over (^^,)

Kenzie finally has her sisters back! So this afternoon, they all settled in to watch Kenzie's fave movie...Cars. And when we watch movies we NEED popcorn!!

Our current fave flavor is hot chocolate popcorn.

All I do once I have popped the corn on the stove top, is sprinkle a bit of salt onto it, and then a good few tablespoons of drinking hot chocolate. It is seriously yummy!!
Give it a go, and let me know what you think (^^,)

What's for Supper?

This is a question that as a Mommy I am asked ALLOT!

The girls will be busy with breakie, and ask..'Hey Mom, what's for supper?' My standard response is."Live in the moment!" or "Check the menu plan" which I post up on the fridge door.

But today, I have been thinking about supper allot!

I had the most scintillating day!! NOT!

I spent the most of it at the Licence Department, renewing my driver's licence then the last part of it sitting in the car, waiting for Ash's remedial classes.. All that I ate was a quick cheese 'n chutney sarmie as I was walking out the door at 15h45 on the way out to take Ash.

As you well know, I love food. The thing is that I love to cook. My Dad was a chef, so I'm sure that I must have inherited a gene or two (^^,)

So on the menu tonight... ' Really Nice Breasts' I kid you not! That's the title.

I just recently got a new cook book, Zhoozsh! Faking it by Jeremy & Jacqui Mansfield (no relation).
I am so enjoying it. The recipes are so very South African, and so very simple.

Oh yum!!

So what's for supper at your place?

Chat soon, sweet friends
