A Rose for Zac

Janni has planted a beautiful garden for our little Zac, head on over to her blog here, to have a squiz. I wanted to also plant a special rose in her garden for our sweet Zac. But as P.E have just had a massive draught the choice of roses is limited, AND as we are heading down to P.E to spend Christmas with Janni and Brett, we can take a rose down for our boy.

So with sweet Zac on my heart, I rounded up the girls, Dawn, Janique and Kenzie, we headed out to Ludwig's Roses.

Ludwig is considered to be The rose guru in South Africa. A trip out to his rose farm is absolutely worth it.
As you enter, you are greeted with rows and rows of roses. It really is a balm for the soul.

There is also a bit of shopping that can be done, we all fell in love with this hat (^^,)

After walking up and down the isles, we needed a bit of refreshment,
Nix had the largest brownie I have ever seen

I had a rose flavored milkshake

As you can see I am wearing a fabulous green band. There is a butterfly garden, which we went to. The reason that there are no pics, is because we only saw 3 butterflies. The rest were still waiting to come out of their cocoons. I'm sure that when they all hatch it will be a sight to behold. But for us, sadly the sight was not so very good.
Anyways, here is the rose that I chose for our Zac,

It is called a Arctic Ice rose, and is the bluest of all roses (naturally speaking)

Isn't it beautiful? I cant wait to see it planted in Zac's garden.

Three more rose bushes came home with me, and are being planted as I type. I'll pop a few pic's on in a bit.

Mommy I took this pic for you, I saw this rose, and instantly thought of you!!

What a truly splendid day!!

Janique's Grade 6 Party

My Nix's grade's them this year is Narnia. The kids have to come dressed as a character from any of the first 3 novels. Nix chose Susan.

She researched everything down to the last detail! Oh My Word!! Talk about high expectations.

Gulp...So off I went in search of a dress pattern, stuff to make a bow and arrow out of with the right colour feathers,of course, and clay to make her a horn, oh and a bag to put the bow and arrows into.

So what do you think?

Thank you Daddy (Ian), and Gramps for making the bow and arrow (^^,)

Seeing the look on her face, makes all that hard work worth it!

What fun memories!!

Hip hip hooray!! It's Thoughtful Thursday, and yes I have a thought LOL.

So here's what's been on my heart and mind...

1 John 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

So if we have been made perfect in Jesus, and Father God sees us washed clean by the Blood, why is it that so many of us are still walking around so focused on the sin in our lives. The Word clearly says, that as we have been perfected in His love, we have a boldness in us because, we know that all of our sin is forgiven.

Here's another aspect to look at.

 We are as Christ is!!

 Flip that's awesome!

 Do you realise your authority?

Ephesians 1:20-23 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him (Jesus) at His (God) right hand in heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him who fills it.

Now THAT is an awesome thought.

So on this Thanksgiving Day, give your Jesus the highest praise and thanksgiving, for the awesome price that He paid for for freedom, so that you can walk upright, and with authority over all things today!!

Have a spectacular day

Don't Rush

I was so exited when I saw that my Day Lillies are starting to flower (^^,)

The reason for my excitement? You see I bought these plants last year this time. I got a range of colours. I was so excited to put them in the ground. I fertilized them and watered them faithfully. But all the way through last Summer there were no blooms. Then in Winter they died down completely. I noticed in the Spring time that they started to shoot up again.

Fancy grass I thought!

Then they started to flower. I am overjoyed. As you can see in the background there is another one about to flower, looks like an orange one. There seems to be two more bushes with buds on them too.

This past week end, my Precious Daddy has been whispering to my heart. I have had a lot on the go personally. There are old habits that I am in the process of letting go of, and new ones that are being formed. Going to the next level is a process.

And I am coming to learn this... Don't rush the process.

Sometimes we need to take time to change and to be kind to ourselves through this time. Change can bring out the uglies in us (*^,). It takes courage to stick to the course. Because when we do, Precious Jesus works in us, to revel the true beauty on the inside of us!

So, sweet friends, don't rush the process. Be kind to yourselves today. Take Jesus by the hand and walk with Him. I think you will be surprised with the results!!

Have a fabulous day

Ngwenya Glass Village

The girls and I spent our afternoon at the Ingwenya Glass Village yesterday. What fun we had.

It was a spur of the moment decision, to get out and go some place new.

They are most known for their beautiful hand blown glass. During the busy season, they give demonstrations. The furnace is off  for now, but I know that the girls and I will be back next year, to watch how they make all their very beautiful creations.

There is so much more to do than to browse the glass shoppe (^^,)

The girls learned how to make candles from scratch

The end result is so very beautiful. They were beaming from ear to ear.
While the girls made their candles, Kenz and I played in the playground, and then did a spot of shopping (^^,)

They have the quaintest little stores, selling all sort of beautiful hand made goodies, from clothes, jewellery, crafts and art.

This was my favourite little shop, Rosewood

LOVE!!

I loved this idea, what a cute wind chime!

This was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and we were able to make some special family memories too!!

Always a sign of a successful day when I leave with a shopping bag!! (^^,)

Have a wonderful Sunday, sweet friends

A Not so Welcome Visitor

Ian is away again, so last night I was home alone... dun da dun dn daaahhh (^^,)

After putting the girls to bed I got up and made myself a cuppa. As I rounded the corner this is who I met...

Oh My Word!!!

I was so brave! I didn't even scream!! LOL I snapped this shot, and then asked Dear Lord Jesus to make him go away.
And you know what? He did. That critter slunk his way outta my house.

I did hear Jesus chuckling though... when I asked what was so funny, He simply said, "You know, My dear, you do have dominion over that snake!"

Ha ha, well I am happy to know that there snake is out in the wide open spaces, lets just hope that he made it down the driveway and far far away!!

Well I know that today is Thoughtful Thursday, I have been racking my brains thinking of something inspiring  to post....

The truth of the matter is that at this present time, if feels like there is a cell in my brain playing space invaders (^^,)

I have had a tough week, and my brain is tired. I want to blog about it, but at the moment I am struggling to find the words.

So today, I am going to have a quiet day, no thinking! I am going to concentrate on finding my Jesus on this road that I am walking on, and then when I have the strength and new perspective I'll blog it. (*^,)

Here's to a calm and peaceful day filled with God's Grace.

Down Time

Hip Hip Hooray!! The exams are over (^^,)

Kenzie finally has her sisters back! So this afternoon, they all settled in to watch Kenzie's fave movie...Cars. And when we watch movies we NEED popcorn!!

Our current fave flavor is hot chocolate popcorn.

All I do once I have popped the corn on the stove top, is sprinkle a bit of salt onto it, and then a good few tablespoons of drinking hot chocolate. It is seriously yummy!!
Give it a go, and let me know what you think (^^,)

Fun at the Home of the Chicken Pie

Ian has entered what he terms 'silly season'. At this time of year his business picks up and makes up for all the quiet winter months... So I have become a bit of a single parent :) I know when his been home when there is a dent in the pillow next to me LOL

Oh well, I decided to get out a bit this week end. Dawn has been away in India, and as she is now home, what better way to spend an afternoon catching up with my Bestie, and spending quality time with my girlies. We took a little drive out into the country to have lunch at the Home of the Chicken Pie. As I live out in the country, it wasn't a long drive (^^,)

It really is a pretty spot, and there is lost of space for the kids to play. They also have a little shop or two. But there was no shopping to be had for me, this time around.

Thankfully there is no crab on the menu, this little guy was safe (^^,)

The menu is jam  packed full of yummy looking things

I had the chicken pie... of course...

Kenzie had a ball, as she has now firmly entered the "wonderful two's" (one must remain positive) there was lots to so for her to do, and for her to run off her steam. She even got her Auntie to play with her. So precious

Gosh I have the most beautiful girls!! I am one blessed Momma!

Ahhh... what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

Well sweet friends, here's to a wonderful week ahead!!
