A Day Spent in Bethel

We set out before the sun rose on Saturday morning...

And we were rewarded with the most spectacular sunrise.
Being up this early does have its benefits :)

We were on the way to Bethel. A little town in the Mpumalanga Province, what they do there, I have no clue, but what I do know is that they have a PoloCrosse club, and that was the whole reason for going there.
Among other things Dawn does, she also sells polocrosse equipment...

I was the sales assistant for the day

After we set up, we had a perfect spot to watch.
It's like polo, but not nearly as posh! Oh well, maybe one day...

They started their day, with a parade of all the players,

All lined up in a row (as if they knew that I needed to take a pic! LOL)

And then the games began. Shew they play an aggressive game at super high speed. These horses get up to a full gallop in a matter of seconds, and they can turn on a dime. It was quite something to watch.

This pooch, however was wiped out! A nap in the sun is just what he needed. The sound of the thundering hooves just meters away from him, did not disturb him in the slightest! I did go and check, and yes he was alive!

This other pup was obsessed with the ball. He played non stop for hours, bring the ball to anyone who would throw it to him. Then he spotted a ball that a whole lot of people and horses were playing with, and charged onto the polo field! Oh My Word!! His Angels did double duty, after a very stern talking to, he was given a water bottle to play with! hehe and he played for the rest of the afternoon :)

Dawn and I do have some great adventures :)

With the sun setting over the fields, and all our gear packed up, it was time to head home.

What a super day (^^,)

Lotsa love
xx
