Take a Moment

OK, before you start reading this, quickly go and make a cuppa something, come back, then close the door and let Him lavish His love on you.

I'm still reading the Message, this passage comes from Ephesians...

The God of Glory

How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He's the father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to high places of blessing in Him. Long before he laid down earth's foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure He took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His beloved Son.

Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, His blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people - free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans He took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in Him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.

It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.

It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it ( this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free - signed, sealed and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life

AMEN!!!

Have a glorious day

A Wonderful Day

Yesterday I had such a special day.

In the morning, my precious Dad came round for a cuppa. It was wonderful to have this quality time to touch hearts.

My heartbeat is my family. I treasure each and every member of my whole family. It has grown to be a big one now (^^,)

When I get to spend special quality time with one, it makes my heart soar!!

Then in the afternoon, two of my special friends came over for more coffee and cake!

Amanda you've met, and my other friend is Natalie

Nat and I met 8 years ago. Our big gilries were in the same Grade 00 class. Ashley has since moved school. But we have remained the best of friends.

About 9 years ago, my world kinda fell apart. My very best friend in the world, found another friend. And sad to say for a time we parted ways as a result. I prayed for a very long time for a special friend. And 8 years ago, the Lord put Nat and Margs (who you will get to meet later) on my path.

Nat is the most wonderful, caring and endearing person that you'll meet. I fell in love with her right from the start. She is such good fun. And after spending time with her. My emotional tank is always filled to the brim!

We had a super afternoon, ate loads of cake and other sweet goodies, no pic's.... we ate it all (^^,)

I am so grateful for precious friends and family. God is so good to me!

Happy Birthday America!

I just wanted to wish all my very special friends in the USA. A very happy 4th of July!

Over the past few years I have grown to love your country! In 2006 my precious Momma moved over to the States for work purposes.

She lives in a beautiful town outside of Mananas, in Northern Virginia. The Father has made a way for Jan and I to visit her every year since she has been gone. I have met the most wonderful people on all of my visits, and have made some very special friends. They have become like family to me.

In 2009, Jan and I went to visit in July. And we were able to spend the 4th with our treasured American family! We had so much fun! First was the town parade, then Starbucks for a much needed coffee, then back home to start the prep for the evening....

Table set...

And filled to breaking point with all the most fabulous food! I still dream about Missy's potato salad, and will never forget Pam's garlic salad! Oh and the burgers were sublime...sigh...

So when we were there, I was 7 months pregnant, so when you see this next pic, that belly is full of Mackenzie! But it did give me a big excuse to eat as much as I could!! hehehe

I love to take time to relive all the wonderful memories that I have stored away, of all my wonderful adventures in the States. I am really trusting the Lord that He will make a way for me to come over next month, so that I can spend quality time with Mom and make more wonderful memories!!

I love the States, and all it represents! The land of the Brave and Free

I am so grateful to Jesus, thank you Jesus that we can all live in your freedom!!

He's My Rock!

So I am still reading through Romans in the Message, and I am really enjoying it! Yesterday I read this passage from Chapter 9:

How can we sum it up? All those people who didn't seem interested in what God was doing actually embraced what God was doing as He straightened out their lives. And Israel, who seemed so interested in reading and talking about what God was doing missed it. How could they miss it? Because instead of trusting God, they took over. They were absorbed in what they themselves were doing. They were to absorbed in their "God projects" that they didn't notice God right in front of them. Like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into Him and went sprawling. Isaiah (again!) gives us the metaphor for pulling this together:
Careful! I've put a huge stone on the road to Mount Zion,
a stone you can't get around.
But the stone is Me! If you are looking for me,
you'll find Me on the way.

I have really been meditating on this passage for the last two days now.

Have you ever gone through a season in your life, when you feel like you are going round and round the mountain? I seem to be in that season at the moment. I think that I have the victory, and then the next moment...SPLAT... I'm on the ground, and not marching anymore. The first thing that I usually do, is rebuke the devil, and his minions, and declare that I have the victory, and I am a champion...blah blah blah....

I do whole heartily believe that we have authority over the Devil, and his posse. The Word tells me that I must rebuke him and he has to flee. I also think that far too often we are too quick to blame him when somethings goes wrong instead of just stopping for a moment and assessing the situation.

So this brings me back to my journey round the mountain... Often times we view our lives by the glasses we wear. Like perhaps things that have been said over us, or situations that have happened to us. I am learning to take those 'glasses' off and see who I am from God's perspective. Through His truth.

That's why this passage has kinda stopped me in my tracks!! If I'm honest with myself, I generally get up and start walking again, but haven't changed any of my behaviors. My Mom always says " You can't do the same thing and expect different results" she's a wise woman!

I have had a light bulb moment!! It's not the enemy that I keep bumping into, it's my Heavenly Father!! Oh my word!! Thank goodness that He is patient with me! I've been bumping into Him for a good many trips round this mountain now. I have been trying to do things in my own strength, and there is only so much I can do without running out of steam. He is telling me that He is my strength, He doesn't want me doing anything without Him 100% involved in my life.

The same is for you, 'coz you know that he doesn't have any favourites! It's time to hand the reigns over to Him, He loves us so much, that He wants to take control. Hand it over to Him. He is strong enough to carry whatever it is that is bearing you down!

It's time to walk in His freedom.
