So I was thinking...

I woke up this morning, eager and excited to start working on this post. I have had this topic on my heart for some time, and Jesus and I have been working together to get the victory in my life.

So generally the first thing I do in the morning after putting Kenz down for a nap, is I make myself a cup of Earl Grey, have a quiet time with my Daddy, then I read Jan's blog. And this morning was no different. When I opened up Jan's post I started to giggle!! The very thing that has been on my heart is written in her post. We live 1100 kilometers away from each other, and we're on the same wave length! LOL

I have been reading such a good book called, Who switched off my brain by Dr Caroline Leaf. I have really taken my time with it. And since reading it the Holy Spirit has been helping me. And pointed out an area of my life that needs sorting out.

I am in a quiet season of my life now. After having Mackenzie my life has come to a grinding halt. All the things that I was doing before she came along have been put on the back burner. I spend a tremendous amount of time by myself. Thankfully I like my company (*^,)

I started to notice, that I began to change, and not for the better. I became bitter, resentful, negative. I would have a pity party for one every second day. And that's when I picked up this book. It was a light switch for me.

The Holy Spirit started to show me, that the way I was thinking had started to affect my life. The word says in Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart so is he.
Creflo Dollar once said, first you think, then you speak, then you hear what you are saying, and then you do it!

The Holy Spirit was so gentle with me, He started to show me that all the negative emotions that I was feeling, all came from the negative thoughts that I was nurturing. Where did all these thoughts come from... John 8:44...He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Here Jesus is talking about the devil.

I had a light bulb moment!! Satan has no control of us, because we belong to the Father and are washed in the blood of Jesus! The only way he can get in, is to plant a nasty thought into our minds. And when we give power to these thoughts through our words, we give them life!!  OH MY WORD!!

Jesus died for us, because He loves us so dearly, and wants us to walk in close relationship with the Father. He paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balances mind and discipline and self control. (Amp)

So the next time a negative though enters your mind, take it captive! Start to speak the truth! If you don't know what your truth is, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. He loves to help us!! This is my truth " I am valuable and precious, made in the image of my Father. I am washed in the blood of Jesus, no weapon formed against me will prosper. I have a sound mind, and I fill it with good things!!"
When those nasties keep bugging me, I say directly to the devil... off you go!! You have no place here! In Jesus name. You see he has to go , because the Bible tells us that when we resist the Devil he must flee!!

So today, walk in the freedom, peace and victory that Jesus paid such a dear price for. You His most precious darling, and the apple of His eye!! He is you safe place and refuge.

Have a blessed day

This post brings to tears to my eyes. Because though our lives are so different, and I hardly know you, God is doing similar works in my life.
And He is always loving me.

And it brings to tears to my eyes, because I am so touched by your words of encouragement, and the verses you have shared.

  3. Hi Niqui,
We have never met and I have never been to your blog before but...today is the day I was to find your blog! I was feeling sorry for myself because a couple of days ago my lower back went out of place and I have been in much pain. Because of this I am feeling sorry for myself and having many negative thoughts. Thank you for reminding me where pity parties come from and who I should be listening to right now...my Heavenly Father! By the way...I watched the video series by Dr Caroline Leaf at church last year. Soooo good!! I have become your newest follower. I would like to invite you to come visit my sight also. On my own journey learning to walk with the Lord! Blessings to you in Christ..Chelle
